An Istanbul-based yard has cut the first steel for a new fishing vessel ordered by Norwegian company Liegruppen.

Like Libas, a vessel delivered earlier this year to the same customer, Liafjord will be equipped to carry out purse seining and pelagic trawling. The newer vessel will be slightly smaller, measuring 71 by 15 metres compared to Libas‘ 86 by 18 metres.

Liafjord was designed by Salt Ship Design in compliance to Bureau Veritas class rules.
