Norwegian fish transport company Rostein has placed an order for a new wellboat to be built by local shipyard Larsnes Mek Verksted.

The yet unnamed newbuilding will be a near identical sister of the hybrid-powered Ro Vision (pictured), which was delivered by Larsnes Mek to Rostein in 2020.

As with Ro Vision, the new wellboat will be operated in support of local salmon farmer SalMar.

The vessel will have an LOA of 84.2 metres, a beam of 15.5 metres, a displacement of 3,623 tonnes, and a total live transport capacity of 3,900 cubic metres. Onboard equipment will include an automatic tank cleaning system and UV disinfection and delousing systems.
