Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (NBBB) has begun construction of a new mussel harvesting vessel for an unnamed customer in California.

The aluminium vessel will measure 78 feet (24 metres) long and 26 feet (eight metres) wide and will feature bilge keels to provide directional stability.

The vessel is being built to a design developed by Australian naval architects Oceantech.
