Louisiana transport department issues tender for new vehicle ferry

The Louisiana Department of Transport and Development (DOTD) has begun accepting electronic bids and electronic bid bonds for the construction of a new vehicle and passenger ferry.

The selected shipyard will build a variant of a 190-foot (57-metre), double-ended Ro-Pax ferry designed by Seattle-based naval architects the Elliott Bay Design Group.

Interested parties have until 10:00 local time of June 8, 2022, to submit their proposals.
