The author of this fascinating book obviously has had a long-term interest in guerrilla warfare and a healthy admiration for some of history's more successful and better known guerrilla leaders.

Highlighting ten examples, ranging from Scotland's William Wallace, through George Washington and Mao Zedong to Sri Lanka's Velupillai Prabhakaran, he uses brief case studies to illustrate their operations, philosophies and practices. The result is an excellent and very useful overview of a military doctrine that refuses to go away.

Well and profusely illustrated, the little book provides a first rate reference on this important subject.
