Chinese shipyards have completed deliveries to owners in Israel, Canada, the US, France, and Taiwan. A South Korean builder meanwhile secures a large 12-vessel order from a European liner giant.
The CMA CGM Group recently took delivery of a new container vessel built by China's CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding.
CMA CGM Ouvea was designed by the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI). It has an LOA of 255.5 metres, a beam of 40 metres, a depth of 22 metres, a deadweight of 73,026, and a capacity of 5,500 TEUs.
Power is provided by WinGD main engine.
Taiwanese shipping company the Evergreen Group has taken delivery of a new container vessel from China's Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.
Ever Will is the sixth vessel in a series to be built for Evergreen. Like its earlier sisters, it measures 172 by 32.2 metres and can transport 2,300 TEUs at speeds of up to 19.5 knots.
The ship is classed by the American Bureau of Shipping.
ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has taken delivery of a new container vessel built by the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group of China.
ZIM Aquamarine is jointly owned by ZIM and Canadian shipping company Seaspan. It is the final vessel in a series of 15 containerships built by the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group.
Hong Kong-based shipowner SITC International Holdings has placed an order for an additional two container vessels in a series from Huanghai Shipbuilding of China.
The two ships have a total cost of approximately US$57.96 million and are scheduled to be handed over to SITC in the fourth quarter of 2027.
South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reports that French shipping company the CMA CGM Group has placed an order for twelve 18,000TEU container vessels in a series to be built by South Korea's HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
The contract has a total value equivalent to approximately US$2.58 billion. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed before the end of 2028.
Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding in China has handed over a new LNG-powered container vessel ordered by US shipping company Seaboard Marine.
Named Seaboard Verde, the vessel is the third in a series of eight containerships ordered by Seaboard Marine from the same builder.
