Northern Cyprus Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has confirmed the recovery of two more bodies in the wake of a ferry capsizing accident that occurred late last month.
The latest recoveries bring the death toll of the August 30 capsizing of the Turkish-flagged fast catamaran ferry Filo Jet to 14.
The search meanwhile continues for 14 other people who have been reported missing following the incident.
The ongoing search operation off Northern Cyprus is being conducted by surface and underwater vehicles of the Turkish Coast Guard Command and the Turkish Navy. The effort is, "continuing uninterrupted, 24 hours a day, seven days a week," Mr Üstel said.
The search has now reached depths of as low as 550 metres off the coast of Kyrenia.
Local police are meanwhile continuing their efforts at verifying the identities of the recovered fatalities.
Filo Jet was transporting 259 passengers in addition to eight crewmembers when she took on water shortly after leaving Kyrenia for a final destination of Taşucu in Turkey in the early afternoon (local time) of August 30.
Local officials said only 241 people who were on the ferry survived the capsizing.
