Japanese shipping company Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), via its Mitsui Ocean Cruises division, introduced its newest ship into operational service on Sunday, December 1.

Seabourn Odyssey was formerly owned by US-based luxury cruise company Seabourn. It was formally handed over to MOL shortly after its arrival in the Port of Yokohama in September, after which it was renamed Mitsui Ocean Fuji.

MOL said the cruise ship is the first in Japan to feature all-suite cabins. These can house a total of 458 guests.

Mitsui Ocean Ceuises will offer a total of five debut cruise packages and one New Year's cruise through January 2025. In addition to cruises to and from Yokohama, it will also offer cruises to and from Kobe and Nagoya, and cruise to and from Beppu, Shimonoseki, Shingu, Kochi, Nagoya, Sakaide, Kobe, Matsuyama, Hakata, Kagoshima, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, and other seaside destinations in Japan.

Mitsui Ocean Fuji was built by Italian shipyard T. Mariotti. It was the first in a series of only two ships, the other being the 2010-built Seabourn Sojourn.
