Jana Marine Services of Saudi Arabia has selected Chinese shipbuilder CSSC Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant for the construction of two additional self-elevating offshore accommodation platforms.
The vessels will be deployed in the Arabian Gulf following their delivery. Their design and construction will be in compliance with Saudi Aramco’s standards governing operations in the Gulf.
CSSC Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant had also earlier handed over two accommodation jackups in a series to Jana Marine Services.
The previously delivered jackups, Jana 503 and Jana 504, each have an LOA of 92 metres, a moulded beam of 40 metres, a design draught of only 3.3 metres, a moulded depth of 6.1 metres , a displacement of 5,700 tonnes, and accommodation for up to 150 personnel in the bow. Four pile legs, which each measure 95 metres long, can be extended via a 110-tonne electric rack and pinion lifting system to allow safe deployment in water depths of up to 55 metres.
