Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Pacific Offshore Engineering held a launching ceremony on July 10 for a new hybrid oil platform supply vessel, designated hull number S1095.
According to information from CIMC, the 81.7-metre vessel has a beam of 17.4 metres, a design draft of 6.3 metres, and a load capacity of 4,000 tons. The ship has a deck cargo area of 800 square metres and is designed to transport a variety of materials including methanol, fresh water, fuel oil, cement, mud, and deck cargo.
The vessel is equipped with an oil-electric hybrid power system, two tunnel-type bow thrusters, and two fully revolving propellers. It is classed by Bureau Veritas and has notations including a secondary dynamic positioning system (DP2), first-level external firefighting (FiFi 1), and sea surface oil removal capability. The vessel also has class notations for an unmanned cabin and a seven-day period of zero local emission operations.
