‘VOS Star’ christening ceremony held in Dordrecht

The newest addition to the Vroon fleet has been christened the ‘VOS Star’, in Dordrecht, the Netherlands.

The ‘Star’ is a DP2, SPS-coded, 68-metre subsea support vessel (SSV) and one of two newbuild SSVs to have been constructed at Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China.

After arriving in Amsterdam earlier this month, an active heave-compensated crane was installed on the vessel and she is now ready to start her first charter in the subsea-support market.

The vessel will perform subsea cable retrieval and lay services as well as a range of other subsea and offshore tasks.
