Ireland’s Atlantic Towage to add catamaran to workboat fleet

Ireland-based marine services company Atlantic Towage and Marine has placed an order for a catamaran multi-purpose workboat to be supplied by the Damen Shipyards Group.

The 23-metre vessel will be operated in support of clients in the towage, salvage, and offshore renewables sectors.

Work will begin soon on the hull and superstructure at Damen Shipyards Kozle in Poland. It will later be transported to the Netherlands to be fitted out.

The workboat is scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2023. The purchase is in line with Atlantic Towage’s expansion beyond the Ireland and UK markets into mainland Europe.
