Damen completes sea trials of new shallow-draught workboat

Damen Shipyards Group has completed sea trials of a new multi-purpose workboat optimised for shallow-draught operations in the Arabian Gulf and the Caspian Sea.

During the trials, the 38-metre vessel proved its ability to work in water depths as low as 120 centimetres in addition to achieving a bollard pull of 18.6 tonnes.

The workboat has accommodation for 11 people, a working deck space of 185 square metres, and a deadweight of 250 tonnes.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery to an unnamed customer on January 1, 2020. It will be used in anchor and buoy handling, towing, hose repair, and other tasks in support of activities in the oil and gas and dredging sectors.
