Boluda Towage Europe and Multratug have completed providing offshore towing services for Siemens Energy’s Moray East offshore wind project off the coast of Scotland.

In fulfillment of the contract with Siemens, Boluda’s anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) Bremen Fighter and Multratug 27 towed a Wagenborg-owned barge loaded with an offshore transformer module slated for the wind farm. The module is one of three that will serve as AC offshore substation platforms at the farm.

The barge carrying the module was towed across the North Sea from Antwerp to Invergordon in Scotland, a distance of over 1,300 kilometres. It will later be installed at the wind farm 22 kilometres off Aberdeenshire.
