The body of another crewmember from the ill-fated tug supply vessel Bourbon Rhode has been found near the waters where it is believed to have sunk some 1,200 nautical miles off Martinique, Bourbon Offshore said on Tuesday, October 1.

The victim’s body has since been brought aboard the French Navy frigate FS Ventôse, which is assisting in the search for the missing vessel and its nine remaining crew. The body of one other crewmember had been located and recovered earlier this week while three survivors were rescued sometime following the vessel’s sinking.

In addition to Ventôse, ten commercial vessels and two maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft provided by the French Navy and the US Coast Guard are participating in the ongoing search for Bourbon Rhode, which last made radio contact on Thursday, September 26, at the height of Hurricane Lorenzo.
