New river towboat delivered to Florida Marine Transporters
NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK
Metal Shark Alabama has delivered a new steel river towboat to Florida Marine Transporters (FMT) of Mandeville, Louisiana.
Gianna Hull is the final one of three vessels delivered to FMT under a newbuilding contract awarded to Metal Shark in late 2018.
The towboat measures 120 by 35 feet (36.5 by 10.6 metres) and is powered by two Caterpillar 2,000hp (1,491kW) main engines driving Twin Disc gearboxes. Sleeping accommodations and facilities have been provided for a nine-person crew.
