Rechvodput, an inland waterway transport agency of the Russian government, has taken delivery of a new ice-capable buoy tender built by Saint Petersburg-based the MT Group.

The vessel has an LOA of 35.6 metres, a beam of 6.48 metres, a draught of 1.42 metres, and space for 10 crewmembers. Two 220kW engines deliver a speed of just under 13 knots.

Duties will include installation and maintenance of aids to navigation, barge towing, harbour supply, and limited cargo transport.

The newbuild is the first of a planned 10 Project 3052 buoy tenders to be built for Rechvodput. All vessels in the order will be delivered by the fourth quarter of 2022.

Design work was carried out by the Gorky Central Design Bureau in compliance to Russian River Register rules.
