Petrozavodsk, Russia-based Onego Shipyard has launched an ice-class work boat, the 'Bata'.
'Bata' is the first vessel of project ST23WIM built for the Azov-Black Sea Basin branch of Russia's FSUE Rosmorport. The project was developed by the Design Bureau of Marine Technics, which provided more than 95 per cent of the vessel equipment.
'Bata' is an ice-class work boat which also operates as a pilot boat. The workboat will be homeported at Port Kavkaz.
The vessel was designed for fast crew supply to large ships and the transportation of cargo up to 0.5 tonnes.
It is 22.8 metres long, has a beam of 6.7 metres and a draught of 1.8 metres. It can reach a speed of 12 knots.
