Uzmar tapped to build tug for Denmark’s Port of Aarhus
Turkey’s Uzmar Shipyard has been awarded a contract for the construction of a new harbour tug for the Port of Aarhus, Denmark’s largest commercial port.
The Robert Allan Ltd-designed 30-metre vessel will have a bollard pull of 65 tonnes. It will also have a firefighting system as it is expected to assist the fire department in the nearby East Jutland metropolitan area in responsing to incidents that occur near the port.
The new tug will replace the 40-year-old vessel Hermes upon delivery to the port in 2021.
