Smit Lamnalco to provide terminal support vessels for Coral FLNG under 10-year contract

Smit Lamnalco has been awarded a 10-year contract with additional extension options by Coral FLNG to provide integrated marine services to the first floating LNG (FLNG) terminal in Mozambique.

The contract value for Smit Lamnalco amounts to approximately US$200 million. Services will commence in early 2022.

Smit Lamnalco will deploy three new 95-tonne bollard pull tugs to provide escort, berthing, and unberthing services to LNG carriers at the FLNG facility while a new offshore support vessel will be utilised to provide logistical and marine services support.

The FLNG terminal is located approximately 80 kilometres offshore Palma Bay and operates in a water depth of 2,000 metres. It is operated by Coral FLNG, a consortium of Eni, ExxonMobil, CNPC, Kogas, Galp Energia, and ENH.
