Sanmar delivers Terminal-class escort tug to Italy

Turkish tug builder Sanmar Shipyards has delivered the first of two Terminal-class escort tugs to Italian operator Rimorchiatori Laziali.

Measuring 28.2 metres by 12.6 metres, the Robert Allan Ltd-designed vessel Laziale has a pair of 2,525kW Caterpillar main engines, driving Rolls-Royce Z-drives to give a forward bollard pull of 81.4 tonnes and a free-running speed of 14 knots.

Constructed to RINA classification with FiFi1 notation, Laziale is fitted with a Rolls-Royce aft towing winch (600 metres of 56mm-diameter steel wire) and forward split-drum escort winch, two 100-tonne SWL towing hooks, Palfinger deck crane and a rescue boat with Gurdesan davit crane.

There is air-conditioned accommodation for eight people in two single and three twin-berth cabins with en suite facilities.
