Sanmar delivers ninth tug to SMS Towage

Turkey’s Sanmar Shipyards has delivered its ninth azimuth stern drive (ASD) tug to SMS Towage in the United Kingdom.

Powered by a pair of 1,500kW Caterpillar engines and Schottel azimuthing rudder propellers to provide 45 tonnes of bollard pull, the 22.4-metre by 10.8-metre Pullman has an extreme draught of 4.5 metres and an operating speed of 12 knots.  

Designed by Robert Allan Ltd, the Sirapinar 2 tug is fitted with a DMT forward winch, an aft capstan and a tow hook.

The accommodation includes an above-deck captain cabin with washbasins, mess, lounge, galley and under-deck two twin-berth cabins with toilet and shower.
