Sanmar adds tug to Izmit Bay towage fleet

Sanmar Shipyards has completed and delivered a new tug for its towage fleet servicing Izmit Bay in northwestern Turkey.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed Boğaçay XXXVIII has an LOA of 40 metres, a moulded beam of 25 metres, a maximum draught of 40 metres, a crew of six, and two Caterpillar 3512 1,765kW main engines that deliver a bollard pull of 70 tonnes and a speed of 13 knots.

Onboard facilities include galley, mess, two officer cabins, and a common WC in the main deckhouse and two double berth cabins, a laundry, galley stores, and a common WC space in the lower deck.
