Saam adds new tug to Chile towage fleet
Saam Towage has taken delivery of a new harbour tug to support its operations in its home country of Chile.
Built by Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey to a Robert Allan Ltd design, Saam Halcon III has an LOA of 24.4 metres, a moulded beam of 11.25 metres, and two Caterpillar 3516C 2,100kW engines that deliver a bollard pull of 70 tonnes and a free running speed of 12 knots. Accommodations are available for six crewmembers.
The tug was built in accordance to ABS class requirements.
