Kotug International has entered into a technical partnership agreement with SPHI Marine of Brunei wherein the two companies will collaborate on the design, construction, and operation of three harbour tugs in a series and one hybrid anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS).

The agreement between Kotug and SPHI comes after the latter was recently awarded a 10 years’ firm plus five years terminal support contract by state-owned Brunei LNG.

The vessels will have bollard pulls ranging from 65 to 80 tonnes. All three will be owned by SPHI Marine and fully technically managed by Kotug for the first period of the contract.

Based on a transition plan, Kotug will hand the management over to SPHI Marine during the second part of the contract.
