Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey has laid the keels of two escort tugs in a series ordered by Canada’s HaiSea Marine.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed tugs will each have a length of 40 metres, a bollard pull of 95 tonnes, and dual-fuel engines that can also operate on LNG.

The tugs will be operated alongside two Sanmar-built 28-metre battery-powered tugs in support of LNG Canada’s activities at its LNG export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.
