Great Lakes Towing Company christens newest tug

The Great Lakes Towing Company christened its newest tug Ohio in a ceremony on Friday, June 21.

The vessel is the second Damen-designed 19-metre tug delivered to The Great Lakes Towing Company by Great Lakes Shipyard. Eight more units in the same series are scheduled to be delivered in the succeeding years.

Ohio is powered by two MTU 8V4000 1,000hp (145kW) Tier III diesel engines which deliver over 27 tonnes of bollard pull.
