French Caribbean operator orders new tug

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK

Caraibes Remorquage, operator of Pointe-a-Pitre harbour on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, has placed an order for a new tug with French shipbuilder Piriou.

The tug will have a length of 30.3 metres and a bollard pull of 60 tonnes. Construction will take place at Piriou’s Vietnam facilities.

Upon delivery in the third quarter of 2022, the new tug will operate alongside Pointe Tali, a 55-tonne bollard pull tug built by Piriou for the same owner in 2018.
