Forth Ports acquires Scottish towing company

Forth Ports has confirmed its acquisition of the entire share capital of Targe Towing, a towing service provider headquartered in Montrose, Scotland.

Targe owns a fleet of nine vessels, including five tugs, that operate in waters throughout the East of Scotland, as well as manages a further three tugs that operate at the Hound Point marine terminal on the Firth of Forth. These vessels will be added to Forth Ports’ existing fleet of 10, which includes four tugs.

Targe’s day-to-day operations will remain the same, with both managing director Tom Woolley and operations director Nick Dorman continuing to lead the business. The Targe name will also be retained.
