First steel cut for new pusher tug pair for Pakistan Navy

Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works has cut the first steel for two new ASD pusher tugs in a series slated for the Pakistan Navy.

The vessels will each have an LOA of 21 metres, a displacement of 255 tonnes, and two diesel engines that will deliver a speed of 10 knots and a bollard pull of 16 tonnes.

The tugs will also be equipped with fendering below their waterlines to ensure safety during berthing and unberthing of submarines.
