Eastern Shipbuilding delivers third tug in series to McAllister Towing

Eastern Shipbuilding has delivered Ava M. McAllister, the third unit of four escort/rescue tugs in a series ordered by McAllister Towing.

Designed by Jensen Maritime Consultants, the tug has a length of 100 feet (30.4 metres), a beam of 40 feet (12 metres), and two Caterpillar 3516E 3,386hp (2,524kW) engines.

Two other tugs in the series, the recently delivered Rosemary McAllister and the upcoming Capt. Jim McAllister, were built by Eastern Shipbuilding. Capt. Brian McAllister, the lead tug in the series, was delivered by Horizon Shipbuilding in 2017.
