Damen lays keel of new electric tug for Ports of Auckland

Damen Song Cam Shipyards in Vietnam laid the keel for a new fully electric tug on Tuesday, July 7.

The 25- by 13-metre, 70-tonne bollard pull tug, which will be named Sparky, was ordered by Ports of Auckland in New Zealand from Damen Shipyards Group in 2019.

Delivery of the tug is scheduled for 2021.
