Crowley Maritime charters new tug for West Coast ship assist, escort services
Crowley Maritime Corporation’s marine services group has entered into a bareboat charter with Brusco Tug and Barge for an all new Robert Allan Ltd-designed tractor tug to serve Pacific Northwest and California ports, performing ship assist and harbour escort work.
The vessel, which Crowley will rename Hercules after delivery this week, was constructed by Diversified Marine in Portland, Oregon, for Brusco. It has a length of 24 metres and two Caterpillar 3512 2,237kW engines that deliver a bollard pull of 80 tonnes.
Hercules will begin work under the charter in Puget Sound, Washington.
