Construction begins on new tug for French port operator

Construction has begun on a new tug ordered by Société Coopérative des Lamaneurs, an operator serving the French ports of Brest and Roscoff.

The Piriou-designed tug is being built at the facilities of Piriou Vietnam. Delivery is scheduled for August 2021.

The tug will have a length of 16.5 metres, a beam of 6.56 metres, a maximum draught of 2.5 metres, and two 440kW engines that will deliver a bollard pull of 15 tonnes. There will also be MLC 2006-compliant accommodations for a crew of four.
