Canada’s Dominion Diving expands tug fleet with two new vessels

Nova Scotia-based marine service company Dominion Diving recently took delivery of two new multi-purpose tugs built by Damen Shipyards Group.

The 12-metre near-identical sisters Dominion Enforcer and Dominion Rumbler will be used for pilot transfers, general service duties, marine construction activities, fisheries and scientific research, tidal energy projects, diving/ROV support, and other marine activities for clients in Canada and North America.

The tugs will also be made available in partnership with ocean-tech companies operating from the nearby Dartmouth-based Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE), which provides research facilities for new companies in the marine technology sector.

Dominion Enforcer and Dominion Rumbler are each powered by two Volvo D9 MH 221kW engines that deliver a bollard pull of 9.5 tonnes.
