Eastern Shipbuilding Group delivers ‘David B’ escort tug
Eastern Shipbuilding Group has delivered an escort tug, the ‘David B’, to Bay-Houston Towing.
The ‘David B’ is the third in a series of four Z-Tech 2400-class terminal and escort tugs, designed by Robert Allan, Ltd, being built for Bay-Houston Towing.
The series is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility.
The ‘H Douglas M’, the lead vessel in the series, was delivered on February 5, 2016.
The ‘David B’ is 24 metres long and has a beam of 12 metres. Two Caterpillar engines provide a total power of 3,840kW at 1,600rpm.
