Order placed for second MiNO Marine-designed 4,474kW towboat

An unnamed US-based operator has placed an order for a second towboat in a series designed by MiNO Marine of Jefferson, Louisiana.

The 166- by 49-foot (50- by 15-metre) vessel will be built by Conrad Shipyard and will be powered by twin General Electric Tier IV-compliant engines with a total output of 4,474kW.

The pilothouse will have one floating and one fixed section. The floating section will be fitted with isolators to minimise structural vibrations, thereby improving crew comfort under a wide range of operating conditions.
