Tramarsa takes delivery of third tug in series

Peruvian operator Tramarsa recently took delivery of Lima, a new ship-assist tug from Jiangsu Wuxi Shipyard in China.

Named after the Lima civilization and Peru’s capital, the tug is a sister of Chincha and Tupaq, which were also delivered by Jiangsu Wuxi to Tramarsa in 2016. All three vessels belong to the same series of tugs designed by Robert Allan Ltd.

Lima has an LOA of 24.4 metres, a moulded beam of 11.25 metres, a moulded depth of 4.37 metres, a maximum draught of 5.95 metres, and a displacement of 317 tonnes.

Two Caterpillar 3516C 2,240kW diesel engines give the tug a bollard pull of 77 tonnes and a free running speed of 13 knots.
