Nibulon launches multi-purpose tug of Project T3500

Earlier this month, Nibulon Shipbuilding and Repair Yard launched Nibulon 101, the second multi-purpose seagoing and icebreaking tug of Project T3500.

The vessel will be used to escort foreign-going vessels along the Buzka-Dnepr-Lyman Canal, mooring vessels to the berths, escorting convoys of non-self-propelled vessels along the BDLC and escorting convoys along the channels during icy conditions.

The tug is capable of operating in ice with a thickness of up to 60cm.

It is capable of towing vessels with a displacement of 50 to 70 thousand tonnes and discharging a water stream of 375m3 per hour, meaning it can extinguish fires both on the vessel and on the shore.
