Bisso Towing orders tractor tug from Main Iron Works

Bisso Towboat has reached an agreement with Main Iron Works to begin construction of a new 4,480kW Tier 4-compliant ASD Tractor Tug.

The tugs will be powered by two Caterpillar 3516E Tier 4 main engines, producing 2,240kW each at 1,800rpm, coupled to two Rolls Royce US 255FP azimuthing thrusters with 250cm diameter propellers.

The tug’s bollard pull will be approximately 80 tonnes.

Construction is scheduled to commence in the summer of 2018 with delivery in the fall of 2019.
