From Baird Maritime:

This is not a new book, having been published in 2002, but this is the first time your reviewer has seen a copy.

It was well worth the wait. A high quality production describing some very high quality German maritime machinery.

Most people in the marine business, particularly those associated with tugs, are familiar with Voith-Schneider propulsion systems. This is the detailed story of that uniquely brilliant system. A system, by the way, that continues to present new and different uses for itself.

It is a great story of the invention and development and endless refinement of a very different concept. It is a story of insistence on quality and logical, carefully considered development. It is also a story of past, present and future.

Very inspiring. A classic example of "if you are going to do something, be sure to do it well".
