From Baird Maritime:
The sub-title really says it all. While it is related principally to the Vietnam War, more recent events in Iraq and Afghanistan prove that American politicians and warriors, at the top levels at least, have continued to be blind to the lessons of Ap Bac.
Ap Bac was a very small battle in the overall scheme of things but, as Professor Toczec shows so clearly, its educational importance far outweighed its size.
An impressively detailed analysis of this important action by a solder academic, it is a rare look at the cold hard facts of an engagement. That analysis leads to fairly obvious conclusions as to American military procedures. Unfortunately, those conclusions continue to be largely ignored.
