The Philippine Maritime Industry Authority has stopped the operation of SuperFerry vessels.
The 'SuperFerry 9' sank earlier this month, killing nine passengers. There were 957 passengers on board when the vessel capsized.
The maritime authority has further ordered an investigation, inspection and audit of the ferry with regard to their safety.
Ten other ferries will be affected by the suspension.
