Vard to supply unmanned craft to Ocean Infinity
NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK
Fincantieri subsidiary Vard has been awarded a contract for the design and construction of eight robotic vessels for maritime operations worldwide for US-based Ocean Infinity.
The 78-metre vessels may be operated remotely from a shore station or with a minimal onboard crew. Each will be powered by ammonia-ready fuel cells to reduce environmental impact.
The eight vessels will be built at Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam and will be delivered from mid-2022 to 2023.
