Ocean Infinity has confirmed that its newest 78-metre robotic vessel has been launched into the water for the first time.

The unmanned vessel is one of eight being built for Ocean Infinity by Fincantieri subsidiary Vard at its Vung Tau shipyard in Vietnam. All eight vessels in the series will be delivered between 2022 and 2023.

Once completed, the vessel may be operated remotely from a shore station or with a minimal onboard crew. It will also be powered by ammonia-ready fuel cells to reduce environmental impact.
