Ocean Infinity orders six 3,000-metre-rated AUVs
Ocean Infinity has placed an order for six autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to be built by Kongsberg Maritime.
The battery-powered unmanned craft will each be rated to work at depths of as much as 3,000 metres and will be fitted with geophysical sensor suites.
The AUVs will be mobilised for global operations and can thus be remotely controlled from any of Ocean Infinity’s shore-based operations centres. They will supplement Ocean Infinity’s 6,000-metre-rated AUVs.
