Turkey’s Anadolu Shipyard recently delivered the first in a series of two training vessels ordered by the Qatari Emiri Navy.

The future Al Doha measures 90 metres long and displaces approximately 1,950 tonnes. It is equipped with a helicopter deck, training facilities, and accommodations for 66 crewmembers plus 76 students and eight instructors.

The ship may also perform offshore patrols as one of its secondary functions.

Sister ship Al Shamal is still under construction at Anadolu’s Istanbul facilities. It is scheduled for delivery in 2022.
