Titagarh delivers research vessel to India’s NIOT

Titagarh Wagons has delivered the newbuild research vessel Sagar Tara (“Sea Star”) to the Indian Ministry of Earth Sciences’ National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT).

The DP1 vessel is the first unit in a two-ship series designed to operate as floating laboratories for coastal and oceanographic research missions.

Sagar Tara is currently out at sea on its maiden voyage, an NIOT-led multi-agency scientific cruise.
