Guangzhou Shipyard to build geological exploration vessel

Guangzhou Ship and Ocean Engineering Design and Research Institute will begin designing a new deep-medium channel geological exploration vessel, to be built at Guangzhou Shipyard International.

This will be the first self-elevating geological exploration platform vessel to be designed by the institute.

Other features include a hydraulic jack-up leg lifting device and a pile leg design.

The vessel will be used in the construction of thekey national deep-medium channel project, and will act as a test vessel for the designer and builder to develop this market further in the future.
