Geological Survey of Norway orders Finnish-built research vessel

The Geological Survey of Norway (Norges Geologiske Undersokelse; NGU) has awarded Finnish boat builder Kewatec AluBoat a contract for the construction of a new research vessel.

The 23-metre vessel, which will also feature Norwegian-built components, will be used for seabed mapping and other related research activities.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery to NGU at Trondheim in the autumn of 2022.
